Millions of Employee Records Exposed for Employees and Job Applicants of Advanced Auto
On May 23rd, 2024, Advanced Auto Parts, Inc identified unauthorized activity within a third party cloud database environment. An investigation was immediately launched, but on June 4th, the actor offered what it alleged to be company data for sale.
Although there has been no interruption in the flow of Advanced Auto's business, the company believes that information such as (but not limited to) social security numbers, and other government identification numbers of current and former job applicants and employees of the company.
Auto Zone will most likely offer free credit monitoring and identity restoration services as well.
The estimated expense predicted in the SEC filing is near 3 million dollars.
